DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Citizens of Dallas another chance to voice their opinions on the future of confederate monuments this week.
A city committee voted to hear from the public again before the city council considers the recommendations of a task force appointed by the mayor.
Council member Ricky Callahan said he thinks its important to get public input on what should happen to the monuments.
“I think that we should respect the right’s of all the citizens of Dallas and let them tell us what they think before we decide on recommendations on this committee or any other committee,” he said.
The task force is recommending changing street names and putting the Robert E. Lee statue, which was removed from Lee Park last month, in a museum.
The public hearing is Wednesday at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
