Garland Woman Gunned Down in Her Front Yard, $5,000 Reward Offered

GARLAND (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Garland Police Department is searching for clues in the death of a young woman who was shot to death in her front yard.

It happened around 1:30 in the morning at a home on East Linda Drive just south of East Miller Road.

Lieutenant Pedro Barineau said 20-year-old Jocelyn Sarabia Marlon had just come home from work and was about to walk inside when she was ambushed by the shooter.

Investigators obtained surveillance video that shows a light-colored Nissan Altima driving slowly on the road at the time of the shooting.

“The video also shows that there are a couple of people outside of the vehicle walking along side it. So, it’s possibly three suspects that may be involved in this crime,” said Barineau.

He said investigators are not sure if the crime is random are not.

“We have to look at every single angle. The fact that she was coming home from work means that someone may have followed her. At the same time, we don’t know for certain if someone knew her schedule and may have been waiting for her,” said Barineau.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840. Tipsters can make an anonymous call to Garland Crime Stoppers at 972-272-TIPS.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
