The long hoped for reconstruction of the I-30 canyon has moved another step forward

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Reconstruction of the I-30 canyon just south of downtown Dallas got a little closer Thursday when the Regional Transportation Council approved spending more than $3.5 billion on three major north Texas projects. The money will pay for the reconfiguration of I-35E on the north side of I-30; reconstruction of the I-30 canyon, and improved connections from I-30 to I-45 and Highway 175. The project may also include a deck park over the canyon. The proposed expenditure now has to be approved by the full Texas Transportation Committee before any work can begin.
