DALLAS, TX (WBAP/KLIF, News) – Governor Greg Abbott is putting Texans in congress on blast, saying they need to get “stiff spines” when it comes to fighting for federal hurricane relief.
Abbott told the Houston Chronicle that he’s disappointed that a majority of Texas delegates are set to vote for a bill that would split 36 and a half billion dollars of disaster relief between victims of hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Nate — as well as those dealing with the California wildfires.
The state asked congress last week for an additional 18 billion dollars specifically for harvey relief.
The Governor says Texas Congressmen are getting rolled by the House of Representatives — many Congressmen say they need to be sympathetic to others who were hit by natural disasters at the same time as Texas.
