Rick Perry’s travel is under scrutiny

Washington, DC (WBAP/KLIF) – The Energy Department says Energy Secretary and former Texas Governor Rick Perry has taken at least six trips on government or private planes at an estimated cost to taxpayers of $56,000. The Energy Department told the U.S. House Oversight Committee Perry took government planes to visit the Hanford nuclear site in the state of Washington, and to national labs in Idaho and New Mexico. He took private planes to visit a Pennsylvania coal plant, and nuclear sites in Ohio and Kansas City. Perry’s travel has come under scrutiny as several top officials in the Trump administration face questioning over their use of private or military air travel.
