Tip From Arlington Police Leads Investigators to Body in Fort Worth Home

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A body was found at a home near Southwest High School in Fort Worth on Wednesday after investigators received a tip from the Arlington Police Department about a missing person.

The discovery sent a shock wave through the neighborhood. Crystal Guerra lives several houses down from the home on Woodway Drive and said crime scene units have been working at the house since yesterday.

“I seen a lady go in with a couple of shovels and heard some jack hammering going on. They were out there through the night as well. The house has been vacant for quite a while until investors came in and started cleaning it up,” she said.

The Arlington Police Department said the tip came out of their investigation into a gruesome double murder last month.

Two bodies were found buried in the backyard of an Arlington home on Burton Drive south of East Randol Mill Road.

Police were lead to the bodies after a severed head was found along a trail not far from the home.

Investigators believed those crimes were drug related.

Two men were arrested in connection with the murders.

Guerra said she has heard about those murders and can’t stop thinking about it.

“If that’s the case, it’s kind of scary to think that it could be related to that because you never want that type of stuff to be in your neighborhood. Especially, when you got such close schools and everything by you. It makes you concerned about what’s really going on,” she said.

The body was taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine how the person died.
