Garland (WBAP/KLIF) – The Department of Veterans Affairs has forced the closure of a Garland vocational training school. The Texas Veterans Commission Education Program withdrew its approval of the Retail Ready Career Center, which means the V.A. will no longer permit G.I. Bill benefits to pay for tuition, or any other school expenses. It did not say why. The Retail Ready Career Center has recruited veterans to enroll in its 6 week training program to become HVAC technicians. It closed its doors in the middle of the day, Thursday, and told students it was shutting down immediately.
