COLLIN COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Richardson man accused of killing his girlfriend and hiding her body was found guilty of murder Wednesday afternoon.
28-year-old Jason Lowe testified on Monday that in May of 2016, he and his live-in girlfriend, Jessie Bardwell, took the mind-altering drug GHB and were having sex in the shower when she fell and hit her head.
He claimed that they later went to sleep but Bardwell never woke up.
Bardwell’s decomposed body was found in Farmersville and the Medical Examiner ruled the death to caused by homicidal violence.
Prosecutors presented evidence to the jury that showed that Lowe drove around with Bardwell’s body in the trunk of his car for several days.
He was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
