FOR WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – The babysitter responsible for a 9-month-old baby when he suffocated to death in his car seat earlier this month will not face criminal charges, according to Fort Worth Police.
The Department says it won’t bring any charges against the woman who was watching 10-11 children at her home when John Norris was found dead. The licensing division of Family Protective Services is investigating whether or not the woman was operating a licensed day care.

“They’re investigating the circumstances surrounding the death,” said Marissa Gonzalez with CPS. “And then also to determine whether or not this person needed to be regulated. Were they subject to regulation. Were they supposed to have a license in order to care for children.”

Gonzalez says it is a crime to operate an unlicensed day care. If the investigation reveals that the woman was in violation of the law, the results would be turned over to Police. Charges could only be filed by law enforcement or the District Attorney’s Office.
