College Station (WBAP/KLIF News) – A “White Lives Matter” rally set to take place at Texas A&M University on September 11 has been cancelled.
The rally was organized by prominent white supremacist and former A&M student Preston Wiginton and was set to be headlined by Richard Spencer.
Spencer, who gained national attention after video of him surfaced of him speaking to a group of white supremacist supporters doing the Nazi salute, spoke at the university in December of 2016.

According to the Texas Tribune, after the violence erupted at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend, Texas House members urged the Texas A&M University chancellor on Monday to cancel the event.
A woman was killed and 19 were injured when a man, identified as James Alex Fields Junior, allegedly plowed his car into a group of counter protesters during the rally.
A&M officials said they cancelled the event due to security concerns.
