Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Two Fort Worth brothers pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges Friday afternoon. Matthew and Britt Hawrylak admitted bilking the military’s Tricare health care system out of some $36 million by charging for unnecessary medical tests ordered by doctors who received kickbacks for sending patients to the brothers’ toxicology testing laboratory. In many cases the doctors never saw the patients, and had no relationship with them. No test results were ever provided to those doctors or the patients. The Hawrylaks face possible sentences of five years in prison when they’re sentenced in November.
