Paxton’s lawsuit tried to have the controversial “sanctuary cities” ban, also known as Senate Bill 4, declared constitutional.
Governor Greg Abbott signed the bill into law in May. It allows law enforcement to inquire about the immigration status of people they lawfully detain.
This is a developing story.
