Former Dallas Cowboys star Michael Irvin says he lost “millions” of dollars in endorsements and business deals because of a sexual assault investigation that resulted in no charges.
Irvin said during a news conference Monday that was “devastated” by the allegation made by a 27-year-old woman he said he considered a friend. Irvin says committing murder is the only thing worse than falsely accusing someone of rape.
Florida prosecutors said Monday there’s insufficient evidence to file sexual assault charges against the 51-year-old Hall of Famer. They said video from the hotel, the lack of physical evidence and the accuser’s drug use and conflicting stories made it impossible to prove her allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. The woman’s name has been redacted from their report into the March incident in Fort Lauderdale.
