(WBAP/KLIF) – Senator John Cornyn is calling on Democrats to offer amendments to the Senate’s Republican health care bill.
Cornyn’s comments came after Senator John McCain’s Senate floor speech calling for a bipartisan approach.
“Should our Democratic colleagues, in the spirit of Senator McCain’s remarks, decide to participate in the process and build a bipartisan piece of legislation, this could well be the beginning of that healing process,” Cornyn said.
Senator McCain returned to the Senate for the first time since his brain cancer diagnosis.
He said he voted to bring the bill up for debate but that he would not support it in its current form.
