Red Cross Needs Blood Donations

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The American Red Cross is asking people for blood donations. In the past two months they have received 61,000 fewer donations than normal; this is the equivalent of not receiving any donations for four days.

Jan Hale with The American Red Cross says that donations hit a record low due to summer activities and traveling.

“We’ve heard from our regular donors that they are going on vacation and that they’ve got other summer activities going on,” said Hale.

School blood drives also accounts for twenty percent of donations.
