A major ruling from the Texas Supreme Court

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Supreme Court ruled Friday morning that gay couples in this state are not guaranteed spousal benefits. The court ruled while reversing a lower court ruling that upheld the city of Houston’s extension of married benefits to same sex city employees. The state Supreme Court said that while same-sex marriage was clearly confirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court two years ago, the “reach and ramifications” of the rights of gay spouses have yet to be determined.
