The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has determined the body found in an Arlington landfill Wednesday afternoon is that of 14 year old Kaytlynn Cargill of Bedford.
The teen disappeared Monday night while walking her dog. Bedford Police spent Thursday at the Oak Creek Apartments on Oak Creek Lane investigating the case.
In a written release the Bedford Police Department says “we are shocked and saddened with this tragic news. We will pursue every lead, leave no stone unturned, and bring the person or persons responsible for Kaytlynn’s death to justice.”
Kaytlynn was last seen walking her dog on Monday around 6:20 pm. When she didn’t return home after about 30-minutes, her parents began looking for her. She was reported as a missing person to the Bedford Police Department around 8 pm that evening.
The medical examiner has not announced the cause of death.
