GRAPEVINE  (WBAP/KLIF News) – United States Postal Inspectors and IRS investigators raided the Grapevine headquarters of world-renowned Televangelist Benny Hinn Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators spent a large part of the day searching Hinn’s offices and filling a truck they had parked near the front door with boxes.

The U.S Postal Service did not publicly comment on the raid.

However Special Agent Michael Moseley with IRS Criminal Investigations told WFAA TV why they were there.

“Today, we are on official business, we are conducting a search warrant on the premises, basically that is all I can tell you today,” he said.

Hinn is known world wide for his “Miracle Crusades” revivals, where he claims to have healing powers over his congregation.

The 64-year-old’s daily tv show “This Is Your Day” is broadcast from a studio in California but Benny Hinn Ministries and his World Healing Center Church are based in Grapevine.

In 2007, Hinn was one of six televangelists that were investigated by the Senate Finance Committee. The investigation ended three years later with no charges against Hinn and the other pastors.

Hinn was not on the property during the raid. According to his website, he is in Paris, France and will head to Kiev, Ukraine on Saturday.
