Capital One Bank Accepting Applicants for Small Business Development Program

DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Capital One Bank is still accepting applicants for its “Getting Down to Business” small business development program in Dallas.

The free-program is designed to address the core needs of a small business.

Participants will get the opportunity to grow their business by learning more about subjects that are vital to success including credit, budgeting, marketing, business plans, financing, accounting best practices, insurance and networking.

The program also includes a matched savings component of up to $2,000 that business owners can use for operations or staffing once the program has been completed.

The company said it will pair participants with experienced professionals and volunteers who serve as mentors during the class and for a year after the course is completed.

Capital One Vice President Mark Boucree said the program is a good example of the company’s goal of educating the public on long-term investing.

“Through an integrated approach that we call ‘Investing for Good,’ Capital One Bank orchestrates the delivery of core banking services along with specialized community development, philanthropic and volunteer support to generate lasting, local community impact and valuable business results,” he said.

Getting Down to Business debuted in Dallas in 2012 and has helped most of the participating businesses grow.

Classes for the seven-month program will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. every other Wednesday at the Bill Priest Business Growth Center, Classroom 1210, 1402 Corinth Street, Dallas, TX 75215.

Applications are available online at www.cybergrants.com/capitalone/GDTBDallas.

The deadline to apply is March 13.
