DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Dallas County Schools may experience another blow to its already struggling system.
The agency’s superintendent Rick Sorells may be stepping down.
According to the agency’s agenda, which is posted online, the board will meet tomorrow to discuss his replacement.
The embattled school bus agency has been mired in scandal for months over it’s involvement in allegedly using taxpayer money to pay tickets for bus drivers who ran red lights and a high-profile budget crisis tied to its struggling school bus stop-arm camera program.
Last week, Senator Royce West (D-Dallas) publicly called for Sorells’ resignation. In response, Sorrels said that he had no plans to leave.
The meeting regarding Sorells’ possible replacement is at 2:00 p.m.
