Arlington Officers Resign Over False Traffic Stops

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – The Tarrant County District Attorney is dropping charges against five Arlington officers who lied about traffic stops.

A total of 16 officers resigned or were fired after an investigation last year.

Arlington police say the officers reported making traffic stops that never happened. Now, the Tarrant County District Attorney has agreed not to put five cases before a grand jury.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, in exchange, those officers have agreed to give up their licenses permanently. That keeps the officers from going to work for another department.
