FBI Makes Arrest in “Barrel-Chested Bandit” Robberies

TUSCON (WBAP/KLIF News) – The FBI office in Dallas announced that the robbery suspect dubbed the “Barrel-Chested Bandit” wanted for hold ups in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado was arrested on Tuesday.

Investigators said Anthony James Lane was taken into custody in Tucson, Arizona.

Lane is accused of robbing 11 banks in five states between August 24, 2016 and February 17, 2017.

He allegedly hit several North Texas banks in Amarillo, Longview and Sulphur Springs.

The FBI said in each robbery, Lane allegedly flashed a handgun, demanded money and took off on foot.

Earlier this month, the FBI offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
