ALPINE (WBAP/KLIF News) – Less than a week after authorities made an arrest in the murder of a Keller woman from West Texas, new details about Zuzu Verk’s last days have emerged.
Verk, a Sul Ross University student, vanished October 12 and her remains were recently found in a shallow grave near Alpine.
According to an affidavit, Robert Fabian, Verk’s former boyfriend, was seen buying plastic sheets like the ones that Verk’s body was wrapped in the day she disappeared.
Poilce said Fabian told them he and Verk got into a heated argument the night she disappeared but claimed that she left him alive.
The document also states that neighbors heard loud noises coming from Fabian’s apartment on the morning of October 12.
Fabian’s friend Chris Estrada, who police said visited several commercial dumpsters after she vanished, has also been charged in her death.
Fabian was arrested on Saturday and is being held on a $500,000 bond. Estrada was arrested Monday in Phoenix.
Alpine Police Chief Russell Scown said more people are going to be arrested and that Fabian’s family members are still persons of interest in the case.
