WACO, TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — A new court filing accuses ex-Baylor football coach Art Briles and other former college sports officials of hiding misconduct and criminal allegations against student players.
According to The Dallas Morning News the latest accusation claims Briles and his colleagues tried to create a “see no evil, report no evil system” in dealing with many allegations against football players between 2011 and 2015.
Among the specific accusations, after a masseuse asked that a player be disciplined after exposing himself and asked for sexual favors, Briles allegedly responded, “What kind of discipline. She a stripper?”
When another student claimed she had been raped by five players at a party Briles allegedly looked at the list of names and shrugged it off saying, “Those are some bad dudes. Why was she around those guys?”
Briles’ attorney didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
The new file of allegations concludes, “The football program was a black hole into which reports of misconduct such as drug use, physical assault, domestic violence, brandishing of guns, indecent exposure and academic fraud disappeared.”
Thursday’s filing came in response to a lawsuit by a former assistant athletic director.
