Alleged Attacker in Lake Highlands Stabbing Dies in House Fire

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Authorities said the man accused in a stabbing in Lake Highlands was found dead in a house fire that he allegedly started.

Police were called to the home on Gunnison Drive just west of Skillman Street in response to call about a stabbing during a dispute around 12:45 p.m on Wednesday.

They called firefighters after seeing smoke coming from the garage. Investigators said a woman and a man, who had been stabbed, were able to run out of the house to safety.

The victim’s alleged attacker did not make it out of the house and was found dead after firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Authorities are working to determine the suspect’s cause of death and police have not released his identity.
