FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – The father of the so-called “affluenza teen” Ethan Couch was found guilty of impersonating a police officer in Tarrant County.

Fred Couch will serve one year of probation.

Couch was charged in 2014 after he told a North Richland Hills police officer responding to a domestic disturbance call that we was a reserve Lakeside Police officer.

Lakeside is about 15 miles west of North Richland HIlls.

Investigators said he even flashed what appeared to be a badge and an identification card.

Couch will only serve a 120-day jail sentence if he is found guilty of another charge or he violates his probation.

Couch’s son Ethan was infamously sentenced to 10-years probation after killing four people in a DWI crash in 2013.

Last December, a video surfaced showing what appeared to be Ethan at a beer-pong party.

He then skipped his next probation appointment and to went to Mexico with his mother, Tonya Couch. Ethan is now serving two years in jail for violating probation.

Tonya Couch is facing felony counts of money laundering and hindering the apprehension of a felon due to their stint across the border. She’s been free on bond since January.
