Authorities Searching for Fort Worth Man who Escaped from Galveston Jail

GALVESTON (WBAP/KLIF News) – Authorities from several agencies are looking for a Fort Worth man who escaped from a Galveston County Jail.

Investigators believe that Dominic Potter may be headed this way. They said Potter escaped while taking out the trash from the jail kitchen Monday night.

The next morning, officers spotted the A/C Supply business truck Potter allegedly stole at Buc-ee’s Convenience Store in Madisonville, about 100 miles north of Houston.

Potter has been in jail since November, when officers discovered he had two theft warrants out of Tarrant county. They also found supplies used to forge money is his car.

Potter is a white man with brown hair, 5-foot-9 tall and about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a striped white shirt and is believed to be unarmed.

He is wanted for escape, forgery and a parole violation. State police and the Gulf Coast Fugitive Task force have taken over the search.
