Dallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – Hunger is a year round problem, but the holiday season is crunch time for organizations working to make sure everyone has enough to eat.

Anna Kurian with the North Texas Food Bank says they’re enlisting all the help they can to ensure everyone will be able to sit down to a family holiday dinner.

“If you go out and see A Christmas Carol at the Dallas Theater Center, Tiny Tim and Scrooge himself will be asking for donations themselves on behalf of the Food Bank,” said Kurian.  “Or if you’re shopping at Whole Foods between December 1st and December 15th, the people at the cash registers will be asking for donations.”

There are a number of ways you can help…food donations (nothing frozen, including turkeys, due to health regulations), monetary donations, and if you have the time to donate, Kurian says they always need volunteers.  The North Texas Food Bank serves roughly 800,000 people across their 13 county area, through a network of about 200 organizations.
