Garland  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Garland Police are looking for the suspects in a murder that may be linked to road rage. Police said it started with three-way car crash just after 12:30 a.m Friday near Centerville Road and Southern Drive.

Lieutenant Pedro Barineau said a black car rear ended a white car, which forced the white car into another vehicle. He said when the drivers exited their cars, a person in the car that caused the crash got out and started shooting. One person was killed and the suspects took off. No one in the third car was injured.

Barineau said it’s not clear whether the suspects and the victim knew each other.

“We have witnesses that are separated at this time. We’re trying to find out if there is any relationship between the black passenger car and the white passenger car,” he said.

Barineau said the although the scene was chaotic, the witnesses did everything right.

“It’s a very scary situation. Especially, if you yourself are involved in an accident and all of a sudden you hear two vehicle stop and you hear gunshots. First and foremost, what we ask the public to be as safe as possible…take cover, especially if people are pulling out guns. Secondly, if you can be a good witness be a good witness. Try to identify people involved. If you can get a vehicle description get that. If you can get a license plate get that,” he said.

Police have not released the identity of the victim. They’re asking anyone with information to give them a call.
