Dallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – The mother of a Dallas Police Officer Patrick Zamarripa issued a statement that separated herself and the foundation in her son’s name from a lawsuit filed Monday against Black Lives Matter and other activist groups.
The lawsuit was filed by Patrick’s father, Enrique Zamarripa, and seeks $550 million in damages. It claims Micah Johnson, the sniper who killed five officers in the July 7th ambush in downtown Dallas, was acting as an agent of Black Lives Matter, The New Black Panthers Party and other groups.
The statement reads in part “the lawsuit does not reflect the views and beliefs of Ms. Valerie Zamarripa or the Patrick Zamarripa Foundation.”
The foundation said their goal is to bring unity to the community.
