Denton (WBAP/KLIF News) – An oversight lead to some early headaches for voters this morning in Denton County.
Elections Administrator Lannie Noble says machines that were programmed for Election Day voting were put out, but they weren’t calibrated for early voting.
“We got a phone call at 7:30, 7:40 (am), one of the judges said the password wasn’t working,” said Noble. “We surmised that we were going to have to replace the piece of equipment if the password wasn’t working.”
The equipment that had to be replaced wasn’t the individual machines voters use to make their selections, but a central hub machine that tabulates the votes.
Nobel said they got the right equipment put out in a couple of hours, and early voting is now underway. He described the turnout this morning as fairly heavy, with waiting times of about 50 minutes.
