The Search Intensifies for a Dallas-Area Woman who Vanished in Alpine

zuzu-verkAlpine (WBAP/KLIF News) – It’s been over a week since Zuzu Verk, a Sul Ross University student and employee, disappeared in Alpine and investigators have expanded their search. She was last seen October 12 and Alpine Police said they believe she may be in danger.

Police searched Verk’s boyfriend’s apartment on Wednesday looking for clues. They said he is a person of interest. Now, multiple agencies have joined in the search to find her.

The Alpine Police Department posted a message on their Facebook page asking members of the community to come forward if they saw a grey 2006 Jeep Liberty and a 2004 Mazda Miata convertible with a beige top on the streets between midnight and 10:00 a.m. October 12. The Brewster County Sheriff’s Office asked area landowners to check their properties for anything suspicious.

Glen Verk, Zuzu’s father, said it’s an extremely difficult time for the family. “It’s a huge seesaw of emotions, the not knowing,” he said.
