DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The City of Dallas is throwing a birthday party Monday for one of its most celebrated residents.
Union Station is now 100-years-old.
It cost $6.5 million when it was built in 1916.
That was a lot of money, but it did unify the 10 railroads that operated in Dallas then, and turned the city into the commercial and transportation center of the southwest.
You could say everything Dallas is now is due one way or another to Union Station.
The facility is on everybody’s list of historic places, and today’s birthday party is catered by Wolfgang Puck.
