Dallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – Small amounts of the bacteria that cause Legionnaries’ disease have been found in the water at four American Airlines maintenance hangers at the Dallas/Fort Worth International airport.
The company issued a letter to employees that stated the bacteria was found in water from eight shower heads as well as a few sink faucets and water fountains.
American said they’ve placed filters on showers and faucets. They have also made bottled water available to workers in all four hangers.
The company started testing for Legionella after an employee showed symptoms of the disease. That employee has since recovered and no one else has reported being sick.
