Waco (WBAP/KLIF News) – Baylor University announced late Monday night their Title IX coordinator, Patty Crawford, has resigned. Crawford held the position since November 2014.
In a statement, the university said that Crawford was “disappointed in her role in implementing the recommendations that resulted from the Pepper Hamilton investigation.” They are referring to recommendations made by the Philadelphia-based law firm hired by the school to investigate it’s responses to sexual assault allegations.
Baylor is facing a lawsuit over over it’s mishandling of sexual assault allegations. The initial Title IX civil rights lawsuit was filed by three plaintiffs on June 15. There are now eight plaintiffs involved in the lawsuit.
Crawford is not the only former employee to part ways with the university due to the growing sexual assault scandal. After a number of football players were accused of sexual assault over the last few years, President Ken Starr, head coach Art Briles and athletic director Ian McCaw were all fired in the fallout.
