DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A clerk at a convenience store in southwest Dallas was shot and killed during an armed robbery early Friday morning.
It happened at the Sunshine Foodmart on South Cockrell Hill near Exchange Service Drive.
Manager Ahmad Ghali said the gunmen tried to get into another nearby store first, but they were able to lock their doors in time. “One of the customers told the clerk there was somebody with a gun outside, and he just didn’t know what to do,” Ghali told WBAP/KLIF News.
DJ Johnson was in the back of the store when he heard the shots. “We hit the floor and I saw one guy run out, so we all got up and ran. We saw [the clerk] laying down on the floor,” said Johnson.
The clerk was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
Police are searching for two masked men.
