Dallas Police Association President Ron Pinkston to Retire

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Police Association President Ron Pinkston plans to retire early next month. Pinkston has served as president of the DPA for the past five years.

While his organization has been at odds with Dallas Police Chief David Brown over morale and pay within the department, Pinkston said Brown handled the July 7th ambush aftermath extremely well.

Pinkston filed paperwork with the Dallas Police Department to retire effective October 4th. That is the same day Chief Brown is retiring.

DPA Vice President Frederick Frazier will serve as interim president until the association holds an election in December.

Pinkston is currently a detective serving in the Southeast Division of Dallas.
