Parents of Students at a Dallas Elementary School are Angry Over Busted Air Conditioners

DISDDallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – The two main air conditioners at Preston Hollow Elementary School on Walnut Hill Lane in Dallas are out and parents are demanding that the district fix the problem immediately. Mark Barry said the system has been down for the past six school days, forcing his son to try an concentrate in an unbearable environment.

“It’s just too hot outside for these kids to be sitting in these classrooms and sweating and trying to learn,” he said. Temperatures in Dallas have been hovering in the low 90’s, making any environment without air conditioning uncomfortable. Barry said he can’t believe that the school district allowed the problem to linger for this long.

“I am very frustrated right now. Well, I don’t feel like dropping my child off to this campus if they’re not going to have a good learning environment which is what I pay a lot of tax for to DISD every year,” said Barry.

The district’s spokeswoman said she was unaware of the situation. She said she will look into getting the problem resolved.
