Duncanville (WBAP/KLIF News) – Hilda LaFleur hasn’t seen or heard from her father, 85-year-old Juan Perez, since early Monday morning. Perez, who has dementia, was last seen at LaFleur’s sister’s house on Green Way Drive near Springwood Lane in Duncanville. LaFleur said she was terrified when her sister called and told her that their father was missing.
The family immediately called the Duncanville Police Department, who have joined the search for Perez. La Fleur said his absence has been a crushing blow to the family. “I lost my mom a long time ago and he’s all we have now. It’s pretty devastating because we can’t find him,” she said.
LaFleur said the family has posted fliers all over Duncanville. They’re hoping Perez may be waiting at a place he finds familiar, like McDonald’s or Walmart. She said Perez has disappeared once before but family members quickly found him.
LaFleur said that she and her family will stop at nothing to find the man she calls the backbone of her family. “I can’t imagine. He’s just everything to all of us. There’s seven of us and he worked his entire life helping us. I just admire him so much,” she said.
Perez is 6 feet tall with gray hair, gray mustache and a slim build. He speaks English and Spanish. Anyone with information is asked to call the Duncanville Police Department.
