Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF News) – A teenager has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at an apartment complex in Fort Worth in June of 2015. Police arrested 18-year-old Duane C. Thomas in connection with the murder of Eleaquin Cardona.
Authorities said Thomas and two accomplices allegedly shot Cardona and another man in an attempted robbery at the Bent Tree Apartments on Brian Way Circle in far West Fort Worth. Witnesses told police they saw three armed men chase the victims through the complex before opening fire. The other victim was injured but survived.
Thomas is the last of three suspects arrested in connection with Cardona’s death. According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, 19-year-old Jamal Lee Washington and a juvenile were arrested in July. Both Thomas and Washington face capital murder charges.
