Balch Springs Dog Attack Puts Pregnant Woman in Hospital, Owner in Jail

BALCH SPRINGS (WBAP/KLIF News) – 53-year-old Kenneth Roy Ginn was arrested this week after two of his dogs attacked a pregnant woman walking down a street off Seagoville Road in Balch Springs. Police said Ginn owned the two black and white pit bulls that mauled the victim.  They said he stood on his porch calling his dogs inside while the victim was being attacked.

The victim’s brother said Ginn then walked inside his house and closed the door, never checking on his sister’s condition. The woman had to have surgery for her injuries. Animal Control said Ginn had received written citations in the past and had several dogs confiscated. He has been charged with attack by dog resulting in serious bodily injury, a third-degree felony.

The dogs were taken by local animal services, where they are being quarantined. The city said that it considers the dogs dangerous and will recommend that they be euthanized. Ginn’s arrest comes as the nearby city of Dallas attempts to control a loose dog problem in the southern sector of town.
