Change For Fort Worth Police

Joel Fitzgerald 2FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – The Fort Worth police chief has issued a new policy designed to better protect his officers.

Beginning immediately all officers, including detectives and those in higher ranks will be required to ride with a partner at all times.

In a statement chief Joel Fitzgerald said the move comes in the wake of recent police killings.

All officers will also be required to wear body armor.

The chief also said “while the Fort Worth police department has not received any specific threat, the risk to officers is high”.
