Man Accused in Fort Worth Officer’s Shooting Released from Jail

Ed-McIver-Jr.-249x300FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – A man charged in connection to the shooting of a Fort Worth police officer has been released from jail.

Ed McIver Jr. is facing attempted capital murder, weapons and drug charges in the March shootout, which critically injured Officer Matt Pearce.

McIver posted a $17,000 bond Wednesday morning.  A judge on Monday had lowered it from $2 million.

A grand jury no-billed him last week, but the District Attorney’s Office has refiled the charges.
