FRISCO (WBAP/KLIF News) – A man from Frisco is becoming an internet sensation after a video of him paying his speeding ticket went viral.
Brett Sanders got a ticket for going 39 in a 30. He fought it in court, but lost and was ordered to pay a $212 fine.
When his fine came due, he decided to pay the ticket with pennies he had been saving for several years.
Sanders recorded the incident and posted a video on YouTube. It has been viewed nearly one million times.
The court’s clerks gathered all 22,000 pennies and took them to Coinstar locations around town.
Sanders is now owed money by the city because he overpaid by $7.81.
