HALTOM CITY – The 43 year old woman wanted for the death of her two year old grandson was taken into custody near San Antonio. Detective Matthew Spillane with Haltom City Police says Patricia Flores allegedly left her two year old grandson, Lyfe “Gabe” Flores alone in a bathtub with scalding hot water. Police believe Flores may have put her grandson in the bathtub as punishment. Police say the boy had third degree burns over 20% of his body, and that Flores waited six days before getting him medical treatment. The boy later died from infection. Child Protective Services confirms the boy and his five month old baby sister had been placed in their grandmother’s home. The infant girl has now been placed in foster care according to The Dept. of Family and Children’s Services. Flores is facing charges of injury to a child and serious bodily injury by omission. Her bond has been set at $75,000.
