Police Officer Charged With Murder Resigns

ken johnsonFARMERS BRANCH (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Farmers Branch Police Officer charged in the shooting death of a teenager has resigned from the department.

Addison Police say Ken Johnson intentionally shot 16-year-old Jose Cruz while Johnson was off-duty.

Johnson has claimed he was chasing after Cruz and another teen after he caught them breaking into his car.

Addison Police have charged Johnson with murder and aggravated assault.

He’s been released on $300,000 bail.
