GRAND PRAIRIE (WBAP/KLIF News) – It’s National Engineers Week and one North Texas school is seeing the benefits.
Lockheed Martin is donating $33,000 to the Grand Prairie ISD for it’s Project Lead The Way Program which introduces students to science, technology, engineering and math as early as elementary school.
“A lot of us don’t realize we’re as good at math and science as we are, especially if that’s not something we’ve had a lot of experience with. So, we want to cultivate that in our youngsters at a very early age.”
The District’s Nugget Cunningham explains the money will be used for teacher training and activities in the program.
