Woman in Critical Condition After Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes into Liquor Store

COLLEYVILLE, Texas (AP) – Two women were injured, one critically, when a sport utility vehicle smashed into a liquor store in a North Texas suburb.

The crash happened shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday at a store in the Fort Worth suburb of Colleyville.

Police Sgt. Chuck Tinsman says the SUV drove into the store’s parking lot and crashed through the front door, pinning a 36-year-old woman beneath it. She was airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, where she was in critical condition.

Another woman, who is 44, was taken to Harris Methodist H-E-B hospital, where Tinsman says she’s in stable condition

Tinsman says alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash, and the 68-year-old man at the wheel of the SUV was arrested.
