NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Police departments across North Texas are encouraging anyone with outstanding traffic tickets to pay now, before they’re arrested.

The Dallas Marshal’s Chief Deputy, Paul Hansen, says officers catch people with more than just traffic violations on their records.

“We also run into weapon charges, drug charges and people who occupy the car who may have felony warrants. So, it’s really an important tool for law enforcement in general.”

He says call your local county courthouse to find out what your options are for taking care of your warrants.
