Woman Attacked in Deep Ellum Speaks Out: ‘He hit me like a man’

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas woman was violently assaulted Wednesday night in Deep Ellum. 24-year old L’Daijohnique Lee told WFAA-TV that she was at the corner of a one way street dropping a friend when a man became angry about being blocked in a parking lot in the 28-hundred block of Elm Street.

The ordeal was caught on video show 30-year old Austin Shuffield holding a Glock pistol when he approached Lee arguing.

She says that when she tried to call police Shuffield knocked the phone to the ground, and when she tried to retaliate, he begins to punch her repeatedly.

“It didn’t have to go that far … Why you put your hands on me like that. You literally sat there and beat me like I was a man,” Lee told the station.”

Shuffield was charged with assault, interfering with an emergency call and public intoxication.

He worked as bartender at a nearby business and has since been fired.
